Goalie transfer movements first half of 2016/7

There weren't too many goalie transfers in my blogging absence in the first half of the season, albeight an interesting switch for Brighton's first choice goalkeeper Borsoi to East Grinstead.

Having fought to conquer the spot on the first team with some athletic displays after Brighton gave him the reins, Chris Borsoi went up the road to join EG before Christmas. A step up in terms of division and opportunity, with EG historically being involved in the EHL and league winners for multiple seasons, it begs the question, why?

With Patrick Smith asserting himself as first choice for quite some time, it seems a questionable choice if he isn't needed, unless of course England team selection comes into play (although Smith is behind Bailey in the pecking order). EG have Jack playing 2s and Smith is the incumbent for the first team, so if he is just warming the bench, he is impacting his own game. Game experience is crucial and the real difference maker for a goalkeeper and their development, for emerging as a top talent, and benching just doesn't cut it unfortunately.

EG also added to their goalkeeper tally with Giles returning from Sevenoaks. This makes up 4 goalkeepers on EG's book and gives some locker room maturity and presence/mentoring with his experience and club involvement.
