Malaysia working on building goalkeeper academies

As has been written about a few times before, Malaysia are another nation working to build the foundations of their goalkeeping future. With their current crop of international goalkeepers going the wrong side of 30, coaching staff will be looking for younger replacements soon enough, so it's a good idea to get cracking on futureproofing their goalkeeping ranks. And working off the introductory stages set up by well known goalie coach great Martin Drijver assisting Malaysia's hockey staff, a domestic system has been established.

The following clip below goes through a quick talk through about the developments. With international goalkeepers involved directly in the coaching programmes themselves, this gives the youngsters a great experience as they can learn off, and be mentored by, goalkeepers of considerable talent that know about the pressures and stresses and strains of competing at this level, just as much as with the technical aspects:
