2014/15 Now Pensions East league goalkeepers: Carr looking for resurgence at Oxted

Since the days of Alex Chapman in the season where they nearly achieved promotion, during their debut years in the national league, Oxted have been blessed with the consistency of their young goalkeeper Phil Carr. An ex-Scotland junior, who also got capped during a shortage of senior goalkeepers in European tournament action, Carr has been the bedrock of a continuously changing side since his Lufbra days. Looking to bounce back, his season long performance will have a big impact on his side's fortunes.

Goalkeepers:

  • Phil Carr
  • George Oyebode (junior/reserve goalkeeper from MidWhitgifts)

Predicted starter:

No prediction necessary, as Phil is the go-to-guy at Oxted. The backbone of their defensive core, he will be expected to perform well and consistently so this season in order to win his team points and offer them a fighting chance against the tougher teams in the division. Given others have strengthened (like Holcombe and Bromley), there is more required of him going forward this season.

Oxted's young second choice is likely to bench but with no real expectition of competing for the starting place.

Predicted season outcome:

Oxted have stuttered starting out from the blocks and against multiple sides looking to fight to stay up or push up the table, it will be a hard task. Potentially may face relegation but player experience should prevent that.
