Thomas waits in the wings at Southgate

Andy Thomas is another younger goalkeeper waiting in the wings at his club Southgate. Much like Patrick Smith waiting his turn for James Fair to step aside and give him the chance of first team national league hockey, Thomas has been second choice for a little while. Thomas played at Oxford university, with them in the Regional Premier league in the South division, picking up some necessary game experience. He was called into the early squad for the GB U21's for the World Junior Cup in Australia in 2009, but was not included in the final squad as Ian Scanlon and youngster James Bailey were prefered.

He has changed his kit set-up a little; the only real switch being a Mercian rhp tube style for the Obo hi control tube rhp. A lot like as Patrick Smith has done. Presumably from working with England coaches or such like, as the Mercian offers the same properties/skill features, but is slightly larger than the profile of a hi control glove. And is still wearing his ever popular (a lot of goalies swear by them!) Reebok ice hockey elbow pads.

He's the keeper in black/blue Obo pads and black Obo mask:
