New TK kit getting international use

With TK unleashing their new kit on the world over the new year, introducing their take on D3O and the use of new Isoblocks to increase rebound and protection without adding weight to their kit, they have been getting use at the highest levels of the game, with South African sponsee wearing his new kit in recent friendlies with the Springboks squad. Rassie Pieterse is getting the chance to give them a run out, as can be seen in the match report below, with the mainly black colour combo TK have gone for with the new branding, on show. Will be interesting to see how use progresses and views and opinions etc. as they go under the review hammer over the course of the year.

Rix: South Africa's goalie export growing

With South African goalkeeping representation in the form of Southgate's ex-Olympian Chris Hibbert and Isca's Richard Hancocks in the (men's) NOW Pension's hockey league, the English national league format, it's interesting to make note of Marriete Rix being another "import" goalie playing in the women's game. Rix who plies her trade playing at Ipswich, has been at the club for a while, whilst representing her country in international fixtures. With Jacques le Roux having got playing experience in Holland and Rassie Pieterse potentially off to the professional Indian hockey league, South Africa is doing well with a crop of talented goalkeeping exports!

Hancocks makes switch to Isca

It took me a while and a bit of investigative work to work out Rich Hancocks has made the switch to Isca, but still kind of new on the transfer front. With Isca only just winning promotion back to the national league, and their goalkeeping perhaps in need of bolstering, it's a good move by both parties. Having played previously at Plymouth Marjon, the South African (joining fellow compatriot Chris Hibbert as the only other male national league South African goalkeeper in England) goalkeeper has experience and the maturity to help tighten things up at the back and help push Isca out of the relegation spot.

Kit wise he seems to be using the new Mercian chest pad design (otherwise he's modded a chest pad with the same shoulder padding!) and has switched from TK 1 pads to Brabo (with the TK design having been phased out). So I think that makes him the only English national league goalkeeper to be wearing Brabo pads right now!
