An interesting spot yesterday was of Brussel's starting goalkeeper (and Belgian second choice) Jeremy Gucasoff wearing finger tape on his third and fourth fingers on his LHP glove hand. Finger tape is pretty standard for football (soccer) goalies to help prevent dislocations and when the ball might force the fingers back against a hard shot, but to be honest is something I've never come across in goalkeepers for (field) hockey. Seems an interesting innovation and break from the norm and curious to know the why's to it.
I'll have to see if I can get some screenshots of this just to prove it!
