A blog for and about hockey goalkeepers and goalkeeping, trying to expand their coverage, given what a niche market it is! Was a little disappointed that there is nothing like this around so thought I'd have a bash at remedying that! Written with a slightly Gonzo journalistic approach. Thoughts and analysis of the elite. All opinions are my own; can't be bothered with anyone else's after all!

Gear sighting at Indian Gym
Kind of trivial I know, but looks like Indian Gym's other goalie has been made as of last week or some time where I can't remember when! Qas Mir looks like he's switched to a tube style Mercian style rhp. Before, he originally used an Obo hi control tube rhp, before making the switch to the larger blocking surface of the Obo hi rebound rhp a season or two ago. This seems to be becoming a popular choice with goalkeepers in the EHL, with goalkeepers like Patrick Smith and Andrew Thomas using it. The rhp offers a larger blocking surface whilst still offering the attributes of ground work and tackling, rather than a diagonal positioning of the stick in the rhp.
