A blog for and about hockey goalkeepers and goalkeeping, trying to expand their coverage, given what a niche market it is! Was a little disappointed that there is nothing like this around so thought I'd have a bash at remedying that! Written with a slightly Gonzo journalistic approach. Thoughts and analysis of the elite. All opinions are my own; can't be bothered with anyone else's after all!

Australia win again
Australia won the tournament, with Bazeley again starting and then Charter taking over at half time, which seems to have become a routine! Potunuri made a good save on Cirillo's drag flick near the closing minutes, and made some important scrambling stops throughout the game to keep the score down. Butt seemed to be a bit off angle against a Verger shot high to the left post and seemed to have difficulty controlling a shot and its rebound for the first goal. Blaak came on late in the game to concede Pakistan's second goal unfortunately. McGregor started again for New Zealand. Jacobi did well to scramble athletically against their eventual first goal but couldn't stop the rebound, but seemed to be lacking composure as he appeared a bit rattled by the amount of goals Germany shipped. Pinner did well to charge out to challenge an initial shot and made a few key reactive saves but got beaten against a high drag flick to his glove side. Vanasch didn't have much to do and was beaten by a shot that hit his near post!
