Season in review: Ible still got it...

With Cardiff making a season changing transfer with Ben Dudley moving down further south to take over from Giles Rooke for Cheltenham, and gaining Lee Ible in return (metaphorically!), there were going to be question marks over the Welsh international's ability to play at a high level, especially with the Welsh side looking to push for a Premier league place. With a gap between playing at Premier league level with Brooklands MU to a greater focus on his coaching development, a coach can be worried about 'rust' that can build up during that time frame.

Questions over judgement and decision making at this level with the speed and ability on show, along with reaction speeds for save making, can come into play. But these obviously haven't been an issue, with a strong technical game on show with positioning and angle play demonstrated by his play in the last few games of the English season, racking up a few clean sheets as Cardiff won the league for the second time in two years.

Lee Ible to Cardiff & Met

The only real goalkeeping transfer in the January window seems to be Lee Ible who has made the move from Liverpool Uni to Cardiff. With Cardiff pushing for promotion again after their success winning the West conference last season, it looks like they're looking to sure up their back line. Ible, who has caps for Wales and experience playing in the Premier league division for Brooklands MU, will provide Cardiff with a lot of experience going forward. Cardiff currently sit four points behind league leaders Bath, so they'll be making additions to try and repeat their success last season, but also to get one step further, if the opportunity presents itself. Ible has recently taken a step down from national league to focus on working on his coaching CV but with this transfer obviously seems interested in getting back in the thick of things.
