Goalie transfers: Rhea and Hancocks

The only goalie transfers I have been aware of so far this half of the season have been Chris Rhea leaving Bowdon to join Wimbledon and Rich Hancocks joining Chichester Park.

Hancocks' move is an interesting one as he was part of the promotion push for Isca in the west conference and Chichester Park already have their young Polish international between the sticks for them. For Hancocks this seems a strange move as he is moving away from almost garanteed playing time to fight for games with a young and confident team mate. Perhaps this is a move to create competition (and thus produce better results as the goalkeepers are forced to be self analytical and provide better game play) whilst also giving a mentoring role to Hancocks to guide the young 22 year old Pacanowskiego through training and mentality for game day to get the best results.

I assume Rhea joining Wimbledon has in part a fair amount to do with the location to London and his worklife as entrepenurial genius behind his brand Young Ones. But with Millington leaving to join Old Georgians to look for a promotion season, the Surrey side needed a new goalkeeper behind England choice James Bailey (potentially being committed to EHL action as well as England training camps and fixtures). Being with a Premier division side allows him to practice to the highest standard and provides him with game time to stay sharp and keep his own standard as high as possible for international selection for USA.
