Pretty trivial I guess (but maybe not for us goalies?!) but Kettle is wearing a new Obo colour combo set, with an orange inner and blue outer and blue kickers. Looks pretty swish. Kind of like a reverted scheme like Potton wears at EG (i.e. orange outer, blue inner). The blue of the TK rhp and Obo lhp also fits better pedantically with the blue of the pads and kickers, if it so suits you!
Here's pictures:
And the old pads, to start the season, which didn't go as well as his EG look!
On a more serious note, it reflects the wear and tear of a national league goalkeeper's kit. Obviously, national league goalkeepers change pads/kickers a lot more regularly. Obviously wanting the best rebound properties available and with training twice a week and weekend matches, this can go pretty quickly. I think Allan Dick and Andrew Isaacs have been on their second set for a little while. And of course, with the international season following on from domestic league club action, this makes even more sense. Not sure if they get any time off hockey wise as it runs straight through into club pre-season!!
