EHL weekend round-up

So as the EHL continues apace, it's been an interesting run of games to digest.

Prem
Southgate beat Hampstead on Saturday as they look to avoid the drop, whilst Hampstead turned Brooklands over the following day to get an important 3 points. Tindall and a resurgent Surbiton managed to outdo Canterbury with Kettle helping with the upset, whilst the experienced Fair backstopped Cannock to a win over Loughborough.

East
Holcombe were defeated by Wimbledon as the Wombles go to the top of the league on goal difference, which should make for an interesting run down to the finish line of the season as the fierce competition tightens. Oxted annihilated Richmond, Indian Gym moved up the table as they beat Cambridge and the other fixtures were draws as Brom & Beck and Old Louts drew with Peterborough and Teddington respectively.

West
Another annihilation took place as Exeter put a surprising 8 past Cheltenham. Simon Mason managed a clean sheet to shut out Fareham and Tom Skinner got another clean sheet against Bristol. Andrew Isaacs added to his tally of clean sheets with Havant who have only conceded 7 in their last 8 which only suggests that they merely lack the finishing edge up front as opposed to their strength in defence.

North
Bowdon look like they will bounce back straight up to the prem after their relegation last season as they continue strongly, with a clean sheet against Preston. Belper drew against Olton, Wakefield got a clean sheet against Leek. Sheffield put 6 past Doncaster but conceded 4 of their own. And finally Durham students demolished Khalsa with a clean sheet of 6-0, as they push second place Sheffield and first placed Bowdon for the crucial top of the league position.
