A blog for and about hockey goalkeepers and goalkeeping, trying to expand their coverage, given what a niche market it is! Was a little disappointed that there is nothing like this around so thought I'd have a bash at remedying that! Written with a slightly Gonzo journalistic approach. Thoughts and analysis of the elite. All opinions are my own; can't be bothered with anyone else's after all!

Strong performances on day 2
Stockmann answered his critics (including myself!) as to whether he is a capable replacement for the retired Vogels with big shoes to fill. Pulling off some cracking athletic saves and some good secondary saves against Australia, especially on short corners, he managed to keep a clean sheet, not something of a mean feat against such an attacking side. Bazeley also did well to keep the score sheet the same for his side, shutting down scoring opportunities when called upon. Manchester pulled off a spectacular save with his rhp diving high against an Indian shot. Imran Butt also made a good diving stop low to his right in his game against Belgium, also stopping a lob. Vanasch made a good diving stop to block with his body but couldn't do much to stop his side losing. Pinner didn't have much to do, only getting beaten by an own goal.
