A blog for and about hockey goalkeepers and goalkeeping, trying to expand their coverage, given what a niche market it is! Was a little disappointed that there is nothing like this around so thought I'd have a bash at remedying that! Written with a slightly Gonzo journalistic approach. Thoughts and analysis of the elite. All opinions are my own; can't be bothered with anyone else's after all!

McGregor replaces Pontifex?
The 24 year old Hamish McGregor and Olympic back-up, has been made New Zealand's first choice, replacing the potential retiree Pontifex. Holding dual citizenship for Australia but after not making their U21s, made the switch to New Zealand and has gone strength to strength for and with them. With Pontifex's retirement he has been given the chance to step up and show off his goalkeeping skills, as with the current tournament of the Champions Trophy action. Wearing an interesting mix of kit, like Mazon elbow pads and a larger profile Mazon (I think!) tubular style rhp, with the rest being Obo gear, he is set to make an impression at the international stage.
