A blog for and about hockey goalkeepers and goalkeeping, trying to expand their coverage, given what a niche market it is! Was a little disappointed that there is nothing like this around so thought I'd have a bash at remedying that! Written with a slightly Gonzo journalistic approach. Thoughts and analysis of the elite. All opinions are my own; can't be bothered with anyone else's after all!

Slough women's rotation policy
Slough's women's team in the premier league of the EHL are currently rotating goalkeepers, with Amy Ferebee and Asha Tranquille-Day splitting the game time in their most recent clash with Reading. Normally teams will only split game time like this if they are looking to break in a goalkeeper or give an upcoming potential starter crucial experience without putting the team at risk of losing. This could be the case with Ferebee being 38 and Asha 21, although it seems strange to do so this time of the season, with the winter break coming up shortly. With confusion for the defence, like concerns over communication and uncertainty of changing how they interact with the chosen goalkeeper, rotation isn't always great for the course of the season, so I'd think and hope that one of them would battle for the starting spot sooner or later!
