A blog for and about hockey goalkeepers and goalkeeping, trying to expand their coverage, given what a niche market it is! Was a little disappointed that there is nothing like this around so thought I'd have a bash at remedying that! Written with a slightly Gonzo journalistic approach. Thoughts and analysis of the elite. All opinions are my own; can't be bothered with anyone else's after all!

Chris Rea playing for the US
Checking out the men's squad for the USA national team, I was surprised to find out that Chris Rea was in the squad. With his hometown in California, he is obviously eligible but without being made of things like this it's easy for it to slip under the scouting radar. Having been involved with the England juniors system I was surprised he had made the switch, but was playing in the junior Panam games before being called up to the senior squad. With less competition for the starting spot than in England and with his national premier league experience at such a young age, he will benefit from the opportunity to play full international matches, whilst providing America with a potential long term talented starter that could push them onto new heights like Olympic selection. With his absence, it makes sense that Miller has been drafted in at Exeter to play, achieving his own national league game experience. Will be interesting to see how the future pans out!
