Nathan Burgers has recently decided to hang up the pads. Making his Olympic debut at 33 after being the non-travelling reserve for the Bejing Olympics, he has since decided to call it a day for his international career. Working hard to take the starting spot, Burgers is a great story for all young keepers looking to go far in the sport, with his perseverance paying off in order to compete at the highest level. With him hanging up the gloves and pads, I think Australia will see Andrew Charter (who was the reserve for the Olympics) step up, with Bazeley still in contention and the up and coming talent that is Leon Hayward potentially getting an opportunity to test his mettle against the world's best sooner rather than later.
